After weeks of rainy days we finally get some clear blue sky. So after wrapping up under several layers of clothes hats and gloves we ventured out to do some sketching. But we could not decide where to go.
Chaddesley Corbett is a lovely little village that’s only a few miles from home so we head in that general direction. As soon as you drive into the village you are confronted with the wonderful church and I knew this was going to be my sketch for today. Lore went off and sketched a couple of the grave stones while I perched myself near the entrance to the church yard.
As soon as I started drawing, however, I could see there was going to be a problem. The temperature was only 4 degrees and the cold was making my hand shake. Oh no wobbly lines! But after a few minutes I soon relaxed into the shaky lines and started enjoying the process.
This sketch took around an hour at which point my leg had gone to sleep due to the cold and from being so still.
I added colour once I was back home in the warm and fuelled up with coffee.
